Corporate Group Headshots
Just like everyone, I get a bunch of emails. When I got the email request for a session of corporate group headshots for these guys, I decided to call them back instead of writing. I believe that communication gets lost along the way if you're only typing away, so you just gotta call sometimes. I'm glad I did.
Their offices are in that nondescript part of town- the area that is such a mix of everything that you can't tell if it's a commercial area or residential. There are people floating around that look like they're headed to work, but then they go into an apartment. Even their offices gave off that same appearance. Trying to find it, I thought I was in the wrong place.
Their office was really neat though. Long and narrow, but with super-high ceilings creating a dramatic effect making the space look ten times bigger. The mezzanine upstairs wasn't even being used, but the height of the ceiling made the main floor look less cramped.
I had enough space to set up in the front of the office, right next to the entrance's large windows. I thought the windows might pose a problem against my strobe, but in fact, it made it easier on me to balance the light in the pictures. We mixed up the shots to get some variety, including a few on the roof and some out front. It also happened to be a beautiful day in the bay, so everyone was in a stellar mood.
Since they only wanted a traditional background, I couldn't really use the office space as part of the shoot, but it didn't take away from the experience. These people had such great personalities, that even the most traditional shot was interesting. Take a look.
