Executive Headshot Session
Sometimes I dread going to the Financial District. Literally no parking and the flow of the roads make no sense. However, when you get to do an executive headshot session for someone like Rosana, you don’t mind so much. Her office had some serious challenges though- green carpet and very little natural light. I did a not-so-traditional shoot for her so I had to get a little crafty with how she was photographed. I walked around the office forever trying to find a good location to do the shots. We settled on a conference room with decent southern exposure. I think the best part about it was that even with all the challenges, every picture of her came out looking great. She was a natural on camera.
I didn’t need much setup since this was a workstyle shoot. She wanted to be photographed in her work environment to give some context. I played around with the conference room to get the best lighting and exposure, and also to get some drama from the length of the conference table. I couldn’t play around too much because the color of the room tended to offset the photos, so I had to stick to one area that I could manage the color and lighting. The greatest success in this shoot was avoiding the green reflection all over the place. Rosana photographed so well that she was the easiest part of the whole shoot.
