Quick Corporate Headshot Session
Headshots are a bit of an acquired taste depending on who you ask. Some people are content using an iPhone photo, while others want a professional photo but don’t want to have to buy the farm. I totally understand. When S.G. called me to do a quick corporate headshot session for, all that he wanted was to get one good shot. One. 15 minutes later, I shot enough for 10.
We decided to do the session on a holiday weekend. Typically I avoid doing sessions on holidays, but in reality, there’s no traffic and it’s really easy to park. However, traffic and parking really didn’t matter so much on this shoot. I rode my motorcycle in.
When I showed up, I didn’t know which building it was. Since it was a holiday, it was such a ghost town where his offices were located. I looked, but couldn’t find anyone to ask if I had the correct building, and there didn’t appear to be any door staff at the building that I assumed was his. I just wandered into the building I thought was correct and hoped for the best.
There happened to be a concierge at the building I entered, so I was able to verify I had the correct one. The concierge called up to get my guy and soon after, he met me downstairs. He just wanted a couple pictures taken quickly so we ventured around his building, but not too far. I got the shots and we chatted for a bit, too. We actually had quite a bit in common so we spoke about several topics. What was only to be a 15 minute shoot, ended up being an hour of good conversation and laughs. And is it turned out, he’s a motorcyclist just like myself.
