San Francisco Corporate Team Headshots
Here’s a session where I went off my beaten path: Alambic Investment Management’s tasked me to match their existing style of headshots in order to maintain consistency with their current Team page profiles. It wasn’t difficult, but it did leave me a bit in a creative bind as I like to direct the subjects more freely.
When I arrived, they greeted me with a tour of their floor-to-window office. Tall white walls and the open format reminded me more of a tech company than an investment company. They treated me with warmth and I showed my appreciation to them for having me there. During the tour, we made future plans to shoot the entire corporate team headshots in the months to come. I can’t help to think that’s the best part of doing this: having the opportunity to build lasting relationships.
The area we performed the session had it’s ups and downs with lighting and colors. We shot in an alley way with a red brick wall, and the other a tan/gray brick color. They challenged me to match the coloring, the poses, and the perspective of their existing pictures. It was more of a personal challenge. As I said before, it wasn’t terribly difficult, but the light started to fade so I had to work fast. This group made things simple for me. I worked with them well and they were very patient as I moved through the session. In the end, I matched their photos and still subtly added a little bit of myself. After, I found time to grab a cocktail at one of my favorite places in the area- the Comstock Saloon.
