SF Bay Area Corporate Headshots
The San Francisco Financial District is such a mix of both traditional industries and newcomers. If you think about it, they call it the Financial District because the banking industry built it. That’s why I find it funny that most of the companies I shoot (banking, tech, law firms) are ALL in the FiDi. In reality, it’s like a one-stop shop for everything.
Now, in essence, this company is in SOMA. But, it’s right on the cusp of the FiDi, and right next door to another client of mine that happens to be an investment firm. Also, when doing Bay Area corporate headshots, everyone seems to know everyone.
The Shoot
I hate parking in this area. There are so few regular parking spaces and so many yellow and red zones. Everytime I think I’ve found a space, I find there’s some sort of qualification on it making it unusable. And the garages are the worst scam in the whole area. If everything followed the garages’ pricing, a small cup of deli coffee would by $7 and a bagel with cream cheese would be $9.50.
Luckily for myself, I found a parking space right by the building and a bagel for $1.25. When I got close to the building, I realized that I had been there before. All the addresses now kind of blend in with one another. I could kinda feel my way through the lobby to the elevators.
Now I remember when I was booking this one and I told them I needed at least 10-15 feet of space to work with for subject distance. I smiled to myself when they responded “game room, it is!”. I’m oddly happy when I know that the company I’m shooting has an employee game room. Typically, it also means they have a great coffee selection and plenty of protein bars on tap.
They wanted a traditional shoot, but with some not-so-traditional images as well. While I made my way through their various Nespresso pods, I managed to make a bunch of new friends and get some pretty great shots.
