Corporate Staff Headshots
This goes down as another one of my faves. The head of this company called me to shoot a last minute solo session for a magazine spread, and then head to the company offices to get the rest of the crew. It's always a privilege to shoot for a magazine, though I'm sure some staff magazine photographers would disagree.
I met Mike at his building in SOMA and we shot some candid photos in and around the property. I really liked his style. He took direction well and was very comfortable in front of the camera. Alarmingly comfortable. His building resembled a posh hotel. There were both door staff and a concierge, and to get to the proper floor of the building, you had to punch in a code. It reminded me of the Aria in Las Vegas.
The main offices were in the Financial District so we just walked up the road to get there. Correction: I rode my Ducati Diavel, he walked. I don't think he would've wanted to ride on the back of the bike. When we arrived, I met the rest of his staff and took them into the lobby for some photos. I also managed to grab a shot of them waiting for the elevator that ended up looking like a rock band cover.
The lobby was a bit yellow but not overkill. I used some nice artistic elements in the lobby for the pictures, as well as long tables and communal areas that made for warmer, more appealing shots.
I only included a few shots below of the time I spent with them, but I could've spent the whole day there. Really a great group of people. I'm privileged and honored to have had the chance to do their corporate staff headshots.
