Executive Headshot Session downtown SF with Mrs. A

Getting that Executive Headshot

On a beautiful afternoon in downtown SF, I photographed this lovely lady for an executive headshot session. I rode my motorcycle into her area but without GPS, I couldn’t find her building. Her area resembled a maze. When I finally found it, the building had multiple entrances. Of course I was at one and she was at the other. I called twice to connect with her. I felt ridiculous.

That being said, I don’t think we could’ve gone wrong with the setting considering it was so nice out- a fluke in SF standards. I expected fog. My mood changes with the weather. But unlike some people who can handle cloudy days, I go nuts. The second the sun turns to clouds, I feel my mood shift. I’m like Jekyl and Hyde. Good thing this day was a nicer one.

Her building had a beautiful boardroom (think your ideal living room but even better) but it was a little dark so we decided to do the majority of the shoot in the adjacent courtyard which was a mix of nautical-chic and Fontainebleu Hotel.  It made things very easy to get a pretty picture. She was a great subject.

It’s amazing that the location of her building was once a tragic area of San Francisco. I mean, you wouldn’t want to venture through the area once nightfall came, but now its full of nightlife and shops. That’s to be expected with most big cities, but this is a stark difference. I don’t know too much about San Francisco history, but I do know that the outskirts of the city are becoming very expensive and the less fortunate areas are now very classy. So it goes, I guess.
