Traditional Studio Session
I love the fact that Sara reached out to me to do her quick traditional studio session. However, she showed a little hesitation going into the session because she didn’t know what to expect. Sarah has her own successful podcast, Advice to My Younger Me. Rightfully she deserves it, her pedigree is quite impressive. I can’t get into the details but let’s just say top ivy league school, altruistic career, etc.
After I grabbed a coffee downstairs, we met at my Marina studio to get a sense of who she was. I have to admit I was a bit off kilter because I had just used the studio for a commercial shoot, and now had to rearrange everything for a headshot session. Additionally, I had maybe about 10 minutes to complete it so I was in a daze within the first couple minutes of meeting her. All I can remember is just talking fast to fill up space. I was sure she wouldn’t realize I was a little off center.
After speaking a bit, I wanted to make sure her photos represented a bit of personality. I didn’t want her only to have the traditional stock. Furthermore, she was so interesting and engaging that even after her 15 minute session was over, we talked for almost an hour. Such a great conversation. I’m glad we met.
