Corporate Group Headshots
OK. So, this one goes down as my all time favorite. I know I’ve said that before, so let this post supersede any other post that I said the same thing about to this point. This company was the most fun and the most challenging I’ve done, both at the same time. It took three days to complete. Why, you ask? There were 100 employees to shoot per day.
I know, the math doesn’t add up. 100 per day? That’s like one person every 5 minutes for over 8 hours. Yep. The only qualification to add is that the third day wasn’t quite as many. Essentially, it was more of a make-up day for the ones who missed the first two. So there was some downtime on day 3. But not really much on days 1 and 2. It was a marathon of shooting.
Moreover, they needed their pictures both on a standard white background and also on a green screen so they could do some nifty post-production work for their website. Good thing my shooting station was set up right next to their commissary. I think I drank them dry of their La Croix. They were the most diverse group of people I’ve encountered under one company roof. Furthermore, I had to pose many of them to match their personality, so imagine the amount of brain cells I fried trying to get the pictures to match the person for 100 people. However way you put it, trying to finish corporate group headshots with what is essentially 200 people (100 white backdrop; 100 green) over 3 days is no small feat.
Additionally, their offices were awesome. Exactly what you’d expect from a tech company: Multiple fun themed rooms, high ceilings, commissary with every drink imaginable- alcoholic and non-alcoholic, protein bars, esoteric bags of chips, and fruit all over the place. Oh yeah, and coffee. Lots of coffee.
